Abstract
The world economic situation leads the Electric Energy Distribution Companies - ED's-, to carry out studies for the automation and planning of the distribution systems prioritizing their economic resources through projects linked to technical, economic and social efficiency. In recent years, the Ecuadorian Electricity Sector has neglected decisive projects in the efficiency of the -ED's-, so currently the energy losses in the distribution stage oscillate 13.30%, and the last investment made to mitigate such energy losses, in the period 2013 were around 25.8 million dollars. In this sense, the present work guides decision making, in addition to monitoring the technical and economic efficiency of the ED's.
