Abstract
This paper analyzes the limits and possibilities offered by the current legal regulations in Ecuador for curriculum design from a functional ecological perspective in Special Education Institutions (IEE). The results presented are linked to the research project called "Study of the applicability of the functional ecological approach in Special Education Institutions in Ecuador", a project led by the Inclusive Education Research Group (GEI) of the Salesian Polytechnic University of Ecuador.
