Abstract

The native radio of orality, in the convergence of multimedia languages and hypertextuality continues in the journey of educating, informing and entertaining. The radio medium is conceived as an important educational agent; however, there is a marked tendency to consider the mass media and with them the radio as instruments of distraction and media manipulation. In the context of Ecuador and many other Latin American countries, actions have been taken for the media to develop educational content that favors formal and informal learning processes. In the case of Ecuador, this is mainly due to the implementation of laws and regulations in the field of communication. From this perspective, this study analyzes Educa Radio's proposal, which is intended to comply with the stipulations of Article 74 of the Organic Law of Communication, regarding the so-called educational hour in audiovisual media. The research is approached from the duality that exists between communication and education, considering the theoretical and practical component of these disciplinary areas in order to recognize the potential of Educa Radio as a didactic resource for teachers specifically at the level of basic elementary education.
