Abstract
The paint industry in Ecuador has increased by 166% since 2011, driven by the demand of the real estate sector, which despite the impact generatedby the law of capital gains, this sector has managed to stay in the market, becausein the real estate sector a house is painted twice a year. This year alone, ap- proximately 80 million liters of paint were sold, which represented an increase compared to the previous year. The construction paint industry in Ecuadoris made up of large representative companies such as: Pintuco, Unidas, Wesco, these are some of the current companies in the country, which are dedicated to the production and marketing of this product, covering 73% of the market. Wescobecame the first company in charge of producing powder paint, which represents 30% of the market. In Ecuador, this type of waste is managed according to current environmental regulations, i. e., construction paint waste is treated as hazardous waste.
