Abstract
This paper illustrates the design, analysis and implementation of a neodymium permanent magnet generator for later use as an horizontal-axis wind turbine. A three-dimensional designsoftware was used for construction of the parts. The permanent neodymium magnets on the rotor generate a constant magnetic field. After designing and building the device, functionality tests were performed. We expected a induced terminal voltage of 25 V ± 2 V from theoretical calculations. After performing various operating tests with zero load and with different resistive, capacitive and inductive loads, we measured a terminal voltage of 25.90 V with a phase current of 4 A, 600 r/min at 60 Hz.
