Abstract
Practically two years have passed since the events occurred during the national strike of 2019, therefore, the repercussion can be organized through the premises of credibility, coverage and novelty thus allowing to analyze this situation objectively, managing to recognize if indeed, the media in question presented a vision of the facts through equity, level of access to sources, style, content and emphasis. From there, it is intended to review the informative quality of the most relevant cuencan digital media during the October 2019 demonstrations in Ecuador. The methodological approach that governs this research is deductive-quantitative of descriptive scope, whose tool is content analysis. After applying 25 criteria on the informative quality to 354 total news items between both digital newspapers, determining that the criteria called ideological balance of the columnists and average number of sources per informative unit exerted a significant impact on the quality of the newspapers. Likewise, shortcomings were evidenced in the coherence of the photographs with the texts, linguistic correctness and comprehensibility. However, there was also a clear interest in investigative journalism aimed at social scourges.
