Abstract
The lungs of the world, the most mega-diverse area of the planet, the Common House - these are the names given to the Amazon, a strategic and complex geopolitical space due to its mega-diversity, its freshwater reserves and its non-renewable natural resources. The Amazon is the largest tropical rainforest and a key region for global climate ecosystems.
