Abstract
Climatology is undoubtedly a science applicable to all areas of knowledge and in this case of enormous importance for the area of Agronomic, Environmental Engineering and the like. The present work constitutes an approximation to the climatology of continental and insular Ecuador in an official database that tends to serve in the future for application studies in the area of life sciences. Studies related to the climate of Ecuador have regularly been focused on the tourism sector, an important area of development; However, it is necessary to structure a climatology that has application in the agricultural and environmental areas, a source of self-consumption and generation of foreign exchange. However, there is no systematic statistical climatology of Ecuador that allows it to be situated to a certain extent in the context of a climatic study of the whole of the country. Based on official data provided by the INAMHI (National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology of Ecuador), the present work aims to formulate a basic statistical climatology that allows us to face more specific work later.
