Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analyze the financial situation of companies in the professional, scientific and technical activities sector of the Ecuadorian economy in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic using rigorous methods and standardized evaluation tools. This basic research had a descriptive scope and a non-experimental design with a longitudinal cut. The study population consisted of 13,622 SMEs and was determined by taking into account all small and medium-sized companies in the Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities sector with ISIC code “M”.
