A noabelian twist is obtained that asymptotically induces the pattern of SU (5) × Z 2 → SU (4) × U (1)/Z 4. We consider a fourth order Higgs potential in a 1 + 1 theory where the scalar field is in the contiguous representation of SU (5). The disturbance stability of the twist is also evaluated. An equation similar to Schrödinger's is determined for the excitations along each SU generator (5), and in none of the cases are negative proper values found that compromise the stability of the solution. In particular, several delimited scalar states are determined, one of them being the translational zero mode of the SU flat space curve (5) × Z2.
