Abstract
Happiness is an important concept. It is considered as a first level goal in people's lives. Traditionally, it has been associated rather with life in leisure time. However, currently, there is a whole stream of research that focuses on happiness at work. Since the era of industrialization, work has been considered as a set of time and efforts, used by the employee and coordinated by the company, in the production of goods and services. These efforts and time spent were understood to deserve clear compensation in the form of salary. Today, in the knowledge society, the perspective has fundamentally changed. Employees get their salary in compensation for the value they have created in the performance of their duties. This value creation is directly linked to the knowledge developed and integrated into the workplace. in the form of new products, new services, new work procedures. In short, in the form of new solutions to existing problems or totally new problems.
