Abstract
Cogeneration systems make it possible to take advantage of theenergy resource in applications where electricity and heat aregenerated, which can be used in different applications, bothresidential and industrial. This document focuses on determiningthe location of cogeneration systems taking georeferencedinformation; Thus, through Open Street Map files, information isextracted from the location of industrial users, as well as from theelectrical network. Additionally, using the GWO ("Grey WolfOptimizer") algorithm, the location of the generation systems iscarried out to minimize system losses considering technicalrestrictions. The layout of the heating network for the use ofproduction is carried out based on Minimum Spanning Tree(MST) techniques to determine the shortest path between heatproduction centers and industrial users.
