Web Accessibility Observatory at the Salesian Polytechnic University

This project focuses on establishing a Web Accessibility Observatory to monitor and report compliance with the international ISO/IEC 40500 standard within the Ecuadorian context. The initiative follows previous public policy proposals and aims to enhance an already developed web accessibility analysis software tool. The core problem addressed is the need for systematic and continuous evaluation of the accessibility level of national websites. The proposed solution involves developing an automatic analysis IT system to study accessibility evolution over time. The methodology is grounded in the learning cycle (experimentation, reflection, conceptualization, application). The experimentation phase will focus on understanding accessibility issues and their causes to propose effective training programs. Subsequently, reflection and conceptualization will enable the establishment of cases to develop an expert system acting as a feedback application, validating website compliance and facilitating continuous monitoring.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>To establish a Web Accessibility Observatory to monitor and report compliance with the ISO/IEC 40500 standard on Ecuadorian websites.
