Description

This project addresses the issue of student dropout at the Salesian Polytechnic University (UPS), which is linked to economic and psychosocial factors, as well as a lack of institutional sense of belonging. Despite general data on Ecuadorian youth, there is a specific information gap regarding the multidimensional reality of UPS students, which limits the effectiveness of current support services. The methodology used is a mixed-methods approach with an explanatory sequential design, combining structured surveys, interviews, focus groups, and participant observation. Statistical and qualitative analysis tools will be used to process information collected from a representative sample of 20% of the active student body. Expected results include a comprehensive diagnosis of the student profile and the creation of validated institutional guidelines. The intended impact is a 10% reduction in the dropout rate by 2027, strengthening the Salesian educational model through preventive and comprehensive support policies that improve the quality of life and academic retention of young students.

Goal:
To comprehensively analyze the socioeconomic, psycho-emotional, academic, and pastoral conditions of students at the Salesian Polytechnic University to generate support strategies that reduce university dropout rates.
