Transparency in Public Information on Extractive Industries in Ecuador (Phase 2)

This project aims to evaluate the application of the Organic Law on Transparency and Access to Information (LOTAIP) by extractive companies, particularly Chinese ones, regarding the information disseminated on the website of the Coordinating Ministry of Strategic Sectors. It addresses the gap between the availability of technological resources and the quality of information provided about the management of state assets. The work is based on LOTAIP regulations (2004), which mandate public institutions and private entities managing public assets to disseminate relevant information for citizen oversight. The methodology involves a qualitative documentary content analysis, using specific criteria to measure evaluation processes. Key documents such as official websites, contracts of Chinese extractive companies, and published web reports will be analyzed to build a referential theoretical framework and determine the current state of transparency and quality of the disseminated information.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>The main objective is to generate a detailed explanation regarding compliance with the Transparency Law in the information published by extractive companies on the website of the Coordinating Ministry of Strategic Sectors, in order to identify areas for improvement.<br/><br/><b>Research lines</b>: <br/>Communication, development and politics
