The school as a Salesian educational context that trains human beings

This project focuses on recovering and modernizing Salesian education, adapting it to the characteristics of the current work context, exemplified by the environment of Don Bosco's Oratory typography workshop. The main objective is to evaluate how the educational approaches in the San Juan Bosco schools of Guayaquil can align with innovative learning theories, specifically those centered on the construct of competence and the development of cognitive processes. The methodology is based on the cognitive revolution, which posits three key aspects: the value of students' prior informal knowledge, the necessity of acquiring a solid foundation of essential knowledge related to real-life facts to develop competencies, and the importance of a metacognitive approach to foster lifelong learning. The model aims for students to autonomously create personal knowledge structures, reinforcing learning strategies and the ability to 'learn how to learn' through continuous knowledge processing and connection with lived experiences.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>To model the pedagogical and methodological system based on a human-centered approach to learning within the Salesian Educational Community S.J.B. of Guayaquil.<br/><br/><b>Research lines</b>: <br/>Salesian identity and university associations
