The Role of the Family and Critical Thinking Based on Research on Perceptions of Education and Scientific Communication

This research project, led by the Research Group on Philosophy of Education (GIFE) at the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, addressed the influence of the family environment and critical thinking on the perception of scientific education among youth in Quito, Ecuador. Through a descriptive and comparative study, instruments were applied to 214 participants to evaluate how the family impacts the dissemination and sustainability of science. The central problem lay in the need to understand the barriers and facilitators in building a scientific culture from an early age. The methodology included the synthesis of existing information, the creation of data collection instruments, and the statistical analysis of the collected perceptions. As a result, the project generated concrete guidelines for improving the promotion of science and scientific dissemination. The findings were formalized in scientific articles and book chapters, providing recommendations for educational policies that actively integrate the family into the scientific learning process, thus contributing to quality education and the development of sustainable communities.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>Identify youth perceptions regarding scientific education and communication, while analyzing the role of the family in these processes.
