The Impact and Contribution of the Psychologist in Formal Educational Settings: An Analysis of Their Role and Effectiveness

This research project, led by the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, examines the critical role of the educational psychologist in the Metropolitan District of Quito. Given the increasing incidence of psychosocial problems such as bullying, substance abuse, and emotional distress, the study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of current interventions in primary, secondary, and higher education institutions. The central problem lies in the operational limitations and the lack of comprehensive strategies faced by mental health professionals when implementing ministerial protocols. Through a mixed methodological approach, combining surveys, interviews, and focus groups, the project analyzes institutional barriers and best practices for support. Expected results include the generation of scientific articles and practical proposals to strengthen student and teacher well-being. By mitigating psychosocial risks, the project aims to transform institutions into safer and healthier environments, promoting harmonious coexistence and greater educational efficacy. This study not only contributes to academic knowledge but also seeks to directly influence the improvement of university and school welfare policies.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>Analyze the impact of psychologists' work in formal educational settings to improve psychosocial risk management and institutional climate.
