Project Details
Description
This project focuses on designing and constructing a bioreactor for the sustainable management of animal organic waste, specifically dog excrement. The aim is to reduce environmental pollution and generate renewable energy through biogas production. The methodology includes collecting and analyzing animal waste, optimizing conditions for biogas production, and evaluating the system's efficiency. Expected outcomes include a significant reduction in pollution in public areas and the production of usable biogas, positively impacting public health and energy sustainability. The project offers an innovative and ecological solution to a common urban problem.
Goals:
Characterize the organic matter of dog excrement through laboratory tests to evaluate its potential in biogas production and determine the optimal parameters for its anaerobic digestion.
Design an efficient bioreactor prototype that allows for the anaerobic digestion of dog excrement, maximizing process stability and efficiency in converting waste into biogas.
Optimize the operating conditions of the bioreactor, such as temperature, pH, and retention time, to maximize biogas generation and minimize residual pollutants.
Convert the biogas produced into useful energy, evaluating alternatives for its efficient transformation into electrical or thermal energy, and demonstrating the viability of its renewable use.
Evaluate the operation and performance of the bioreactor through a detailed analysis of the operating parameters, biogas production efficiency, and pollutant reduction, ensuring its sustainability and effectiveness in the management of organic waste.
