Description

This project addresses the need to understand the influence of the Value Chain on the export performance of Guayaquil's metalworking industry, specifically towards the Andean Community of Nations (CAN). Given Ecuador's slow industrialization process and the priority given to the metalworking industry under the New Productive Matrix for generating added value, a detailed study of business activities is crucial. The research utilizes the Value Chain Model to identify and review the primary and secondary activities that define the value generated and perceived by the customer—a key factor for success in opening up to globalized external markets. The methodology employed is documentary and field-based, with an exploratory scope and correlational level, using a quantitative approach. Surveys will be administered to a probabilistic sample of 18 metalworking companies registered as exporters in Guayaquil, using data from the Ecuadorian Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC) for sample calculation. The ultimate goal is to obtain baseline information to optimize the sector's operations and internationalization strategy.

Goal:
To establish how the Value Chain of the Metalworking Industry in Guayaquil influences its exports to the Andean Community of Nations (CAN).
