Project Details
Description
This research project focuses on addressing the significant challenges Ecuador faces regarding quality and productivity within its companies and industries. The core problem lies in the lack of clear standards, inefficient management practices, and a business culture that limits national competitiveness and the ability to meet market demands. The study, framed within the Data Science research line, aims to evaluate current quality and production management practices, identify key obstacles and opportunities, and propose concrete and viable recommendations to foster continuous improvement. The methodology is conclusive, utilizing electronic surveys via Google Forms and expert interviews, with data analysis performed using Minitab 21 and Tableau. Expected outcomes, materialized in four scientific articles indexed in Web of Science, are intended to enhance business competitiveness, increase customer satisfaction, drive economic growth, and promote more sustainable development in Ecuador. The project involves the Salesian Polytechnic University and includes co-financing from the company Maxter S.A.

Goal:
To study and analyze quality and productivity in Ecuadorian companies, identifying the main challenges and opportunities for improvement in these aspects at a national level.

Research lines:
Data science
