Description
This research project addresses the impact of the growing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) on grid power quality, specifically analyzing harmonic injection during charging processes. Motivated by government incentives for clean technology adoption, the study seeks to quantify the harmonic distortion generated by EVs under different charging regimes (slow at 3.7 KW, medium at 7.3 KW, and fast at 50KW). Employing a deductive method, the study is divided into phases: field data collection from slow and medium charging sessions at the university, information processing to identify faults and impact on industrial and residential environments, and finally, implementation and publication of results. The main objective is to verify the quantity of harmonics generated and their effect on the electrical system, although a limitation is noted regarding the lack of fast-charging stations for complete data acquisition.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>To establish the impact that the charging of electric vehicles will cause on the industry due to the harmonics injected into the power grid.<br/><br/><b>Research lines</b>: <br/>Optimization and innovation of energy and renewable energies
