Sociocultural Patterns Influencing Violence (Physical, Psychological, and Sexual) with Emphasis on Indigenous Children and Adolescents in Rural Areas

Project Details

Description

This research project addresses the urgent need to protect indigenous children and adolescents in rural areas from physical and psychological violence, a group historically excluded and affected by mobility issues, limited access to education, and sociocultural patterns that perpetuate mistreatment. The main objective is to generate a comprehensive diagnosis of the current situation of this population, serving as both a theoretical tool and a foundation for developing effective policy proposals for organizations and governmental bodies. The methodology employed is mixed, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches, and incorporates specific sociological and anthropological techniques such as in-depth interviews, life stories, discussion groups, and focus groups. The expected outcome is to raise awareness of the reality in these areas and promote the strengthening of programs that guarantee the right to protection against gender-based violence, driving changes in public policies and services at both national and local levels.

Goal:
To contribute to ensuring that girls, boys, and adolescents, particularly those from indigenous communities and rural areas, enjoy the right to protection against physical and psychological violence by generating safe community environments that promote egalitarian, affectionate, and respectful relationships.

Research lines:
nan
