SAFER: Intelligent Platform for Comprehensive Care and Assistance for Older Adults

Project Details

Description

The rapid aging of the population imposes significant challenges on health and social systems, demanding more adaptable and elder-friendly urban environments. This project addresses this need through the design and implementation of the intelligent platform SAFER, focused on the comprehensive care of the elderly. The solution relies on integrating advancements in electronic devices, wireless technologies, and communication networks, aligning with the concept of smart cities and ubiquitous social computing. The methodology involves an exhaustive study of the state-of-the-art in obtaining and processing vital signs from biosensors, cloud computing, knowledge management, and artificial intelligence applied to e-health. Subsequently, the design of the SAFER platform layers, the modular implementation of its components, and rigorous functional testing and adjustments are carried out. The ultimate goal is to offer information services adapted to the physical and social context of the elderly, improving their quality of life, social interaction opportunities, and health monitoring.

Goal:
To design and implement an intelligent platform named SAFER, aimed at the comprehensive care of the elderly population by adapting to their social and health needs within the context of smart cities.

Research lines:
Telemedicine
