Description
This research project, titled "Reinventing Education," aims to address the inadequacy of current educational proposals in the face of society's changing needs, exacerbated by the digital divide and the demand for 21st-century skills. The central problem is the lack of a timely educational offering that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and joy in learning, alongside the need for teacher qualification (less than 10% hold a fourth-level degree). The justification is rooted in international mandates (UNESCO) and national regulations (Constitution of Ecuador) regarding the right to quality education and the urgency of reducing inequalities. The project will be implemented at the Carlos Crespi II Private Educational Unit (UEPCCII) in Cuenca, aligning with its vision of excellence and the willingness of its teaching staff (80% without advanced degrees) to train in Educational Innovation. The primary methodology will be Action Research (Kurt Lewin), following Observation, Planning, Action, and Reflection phases. Objectives include socializing the foundations, diagnosing the current proposal, designing and implementing the new innovative proposal, and evaluating its results. Expected outcomes include at least one indexed article in Scopus and one in SciELO, in addition to a book. The main impact will be academic, improving educational indicators and fostering student competencies, and social, supporting the community predominantly from socioeconomic stratum C.

Goal:
To apply an innovative educational proposal across different educational levels at UEPCCII to respond to the current needs of a constantly changing society, stimulating student learning autonomously, collaboratively, and meaningfully.

Research lines:
Social responsibility, redistribution of wealth and quality of life
