Recording Footprints 2.0: Video as a tool for constructing the historical memory of a people (GRHU2)

The 'Grabando Huellas 2.0' project addresses the devaluation of local history and culture in Ecuador by creating an academic model for the production of short non-fiction videos. Given the growing trend of consuming fast-paced content on social networks like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, this research proposes a specific narrative structure to document traditions, myths, and knowledge from various Ecuadorian regions, including Guayaquil, Montalvo, and the Galapagos. The methodology is mixed, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches, including participant observation, interviews, and digital metrics analysis using tools like Metricool. The team, composed of faculty and students from the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, seeks not only to generate 22 audiovisual products but also to establish a theoretical-practical framework for educommunication. The expected impact focuses on strengthening local identity and creating accessible educational resources. By integrating research with social outreach, the project promotes the appreciation of cultural heritage and provides students with practical experience in the field of audiovisual communication, contributing to the construction of a collective historical memory and the development of professional competencies in the digital environment.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>Design an academic model for the production of short non-fiction videos to strengthen the capabilities of communication professionals and promote historical memory and interculturality in Ecuador.
