Description

This project addresses the critical need to restore electrical supply following severe contingencies (such as lightning strikes, insulation failures, or natural disasters) that cause temporary or permanent outages. The electrical system faces growing demand, making it essential for primary, control, and protection components to withstand unusual events. The strategy focuses on equipping Power Electric Systems (PES) with advanced detection, isolation, and rapid restoration capabilities. The proposed methodology includes four stages: a descriptive state-of-the-art review on assessing contingency impact; a deductive method to model and simulate the distribution network using specialized software, testing algorithms under failure scenarios (line, substation, or generation outages); an experimental stage to contrast results against standard electrical parameters; and finally, an inductive evaluation of the performance of grid reconstitution methods against scenarios like load shedding. The ultimate goal is to ensure operational resilience and minimize service interruption time.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>To propose methods for reconstituting electrical energy supply following events or contingencies by implementing alternative generation sources, reconfiguring grids, and optimizing the placement of cutting and sectionalizing equipment.<br/><br/><b>Research lines</b>: <br/>Planning and management of electrical systems
