Description
This research project addresses the issue of dropout and academic lag at the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana (UPS), Quito campus, where concerning retention rates have been recorded. The main objective is to analyze how psychosocial factors—such as academic stress, social skills, parental bonds, self-efficacy, and study habits—correlate with the academic efficiency of undergraduate students.
The methodology used is quantitative, with a non-experimental and cross-sectional design. Validated psychometric scales will be used to measure variables of interest in a representative sample of students, applying statistical techniques such as Pearson correlation, chi-square, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) to determine the relationships between the variables.
Expected results include the identification of protective and risk factors, the creation of student support strategies, the digitization of psychometric instruments, and the publication of scientific articles. This project seeks not only to improve mental health and university coexistence but also to ensure institutional sustainability by increasing student retention and terminal efficiency.

Goal:
Analyze the impact of psychosocial factors on academic efficiency in the university population.
