This research project aims to analyze psychosocial factors and cultural and communicative aspects to strengthen mental health promotion and prevention among university students in Montería, Colombia, and Cuenca, Ecuador. The project will employ a mixed-methods approach, including quantitative and qualitative studies, to evaluate psychosocial risk and protective factors, identify cultural and communicative beliefs related to mental health, and develop a social appropriation of knowledge strategy based on the SAM application. The expected outcomes include generating new knowledge, training human resources, and producing social appropriation products.

Goals:
Evaluate protective factors and psychosocial risk factors associated with the mental health of university students from Montería, Colombia and Cuenca, Ecuador.
Identify the beliefs that university students from Montería, Colombia and Cuenca, Ecuador have regarding the cultural and communicative aspects related to the promotion and prevention of mental health.
Relate the psychosocial factors and the beliefs that university students from Montería, Colombia and Cuenca, Ecuador have regarding cultural and communicative aspects.
Design and implement a social appropriation of knowledge strategy to strengthen the promotion and prevention of mental health in young people from Montería, Colombia and Cuenca, Ecuador, based on the SAM application.
