Practice of Inclusive Culture at the Salesian Polytechnic University in Ecuador (Phase 2)

Project Details

Description

This project aims to analyze and demonstrate the inclusive culture implemented within the university community of UPS, focusing on the application of values derived from the Salesian Preventive System between 1980 and 2015. The study is grounded in the legacy of Don Bosco, who developed a pedagogy based on reason, religion, and loving-kindness to holistically educate poor and at-risk youth, revolutionizing the educational system of his time. The methodology employed is historical-critical and projective, structured in four stages: developing a theoretical framework on the inclusive dimension of the system, reviewing historical milestones of inclusive practice at UPS (from the 1980s to the present), analyzing the situational status of regional practices, and regional systematization to identify challenges and propose improvements. Data collection will involve interviews, focus groups, surveys, and reviewing academic and pedagogical management archives. The ultimate goal is to systematize this experience to reaffirm and value Salesian spirituality and charism in the current university context, utilizing a bibliographic manager for information organization.

Goal:
To demonstrate the inclusive culture within the university community of UPS by systematizing the experience of practicing the values of the Salesian Preventive System (1980-2015), aiming to value Salesian spirituality and charism.

Research lines:
Inclusive education, policies, culture and practices
