Philosophical and Epistemological Foundations to Guide Knowledge Development in Ecuador

Project Details

Description

This project addresses the perceived mismatch between knowledge and socio-historical praxis in Ecuador, exacerbated by phenomena like globalization and disinformation, which marginalize human valuation. The main objective is to establish solid philosophical and epistemological foundations for knowledge development, fostering critical and reflective thinking among citizens, especially youth, who exhibit a superficial view of reality. The research aligns with the National Plan for Good Living (Objectives 4 and 10), aiming to improve educational quality and transform the productive matrix through the comprehensive formation of creative and responsible individuals. Methodologically, a qualitative and explanatory approach will be used, employing deductive-inductive, hermeneutic, and dialectical methods. Data collection techniques will include card indexing (fichaje) and interviews, intended to answer fundamental questions about the nature, origin, construction, and purpose of knowledge in contemporary society, thereby promoting intellectual autonomy and excellence.

Goal:
To determine the philosophical and epistemological foundations for the development of knowledge in order to generate a level of critical-analytical-reflective thinking appropriate to the Ecuadorian context.

Research lines:
Philosophy of education
