Organization, Sense of Community, and Autonomy in the Pucará de Pesillo Indigenous Community, in the Olmedo Parish, Cayambe (Phase 2)

This qualitative, non-experimental research project focused on analyzing the social and organizational dynamics of the Kayambi indigenous community in Pucará de Pesillo, located in the Cayambe canton, Ecuador. The primary goal was to establish the relationship between community organization, sense of community, and autonomy processes within this ethnic group, addressing the scarcity of academic literature on the subject. The methodology employed was exploratory and descriptive, utilizing a holistic approach to reconstruct the social reality from the perspective of local actors. Data collection techniques included semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and focus groups with community leaders and elders. The analysis relied on semantic content analysis and the categorization of collected narratives. The studied population primarily belongs to the Kichwa Kayambi nationality, engaged in agricultural and livestock production. The sample was non-probabilistic and purposive, selecting active participants holding positions within community organizations to ensure the acquisition of strategic information regarding their traditional socioeconomic and political organizational forms and their perspective on territorial autonomy.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>To determine the incidence of community sense and organization on the autonomy processes within the Kayambi indigenous population, specifically in the Pucará de Pesillo community, during the year 2018.<br/><br/><b>Research lines</b>: <br/>Political, social and community psychology
