Description
This project addresses the issue of poor quality of service observed in the VDSL platforms deployed by CNT EP, especially in rural areas of the Azuay province. The migration from TDMA/ADSL systems to NGN utilizing VDSL technology is hindered by the age (approximately 15 years) and adverse environmental conditions affecting the physical copper access network, leading to high attenuation values. The main objective is to identify the physical transmission medium parameters negatively impacting VDSL performance. The methodology combines rigorous theoretical analysis with specialized field measurements to diagnose the current network status. The expected outcome is the recommendation of specific, targeted corrective processes to enhance the performance of the existing copper network, thereby avoiding the need to replace large sections of infrastructure and ensuring that the theoretical transfer rates promised by VDSL technology are achieved.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>To determine, through theoretical analysis, technical criteria, and experimental data, the necessary improvement processes for the current copper access networks of the National Telecommunications Corporation (CNT) to optimize the quality of service for VDSL platforms.<br/><br/><b>Research lines</b>: <br/>Optical networks
