This research project aims to analyze the behavior of university students in Guayaquil regarding their use of social media, considering the impact of the digital revolution and increasing media interactivity. Given the proliferation of digital environments and globalization, the study addresses how these platforms influence youth habits, including potential risks such as internet addiction, loss of control, and anxiety due to constant connectivity. The methodology follows a quantitative approach with a descriptive scope and a non-experimental design. Data collection will utilize the 'Scale to measure student addiction to social networks' by Cabero-Almenara (2019), complemented by socioeconomic variables. The sample will be selected through non-probabilistic sampling, including students enrolled in Guayaquil universities recognized by Senescyt who are active users of at least one social network. The results aim to provide a clear understanding of digital interaction dynamics within this demographic, identifying usage patterns and potential indicators of technological dependency in the current academic environment.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>Describe the behaviors and usage habits of social media among university students in Guayaquil.<br/><br/><b>Research lines</b>: <br/>Communication and interculturality
