General objective To describe the behavior of the students of the universities of Guayaquil in the use of social networks. Justification This research project will gather information regarding the use that young Guayaquil university students are giving to social networks and the Internet, and the reflection on whether this could promote addiction to these communication tools. The new normality, conditioned by biosafety , promotes the use of Information and Communication Technologies in social areas where they were previously used marginally. In this context, it is important to know how university students use these tools, so that ways of using them in other areas of interest, such as academics, can be explored.
