New Urbanities Built from Indigenous Mobility Illustrated with the Quito Guayauil Macas Case Study

Project Details

Description

General objective Analyze the systems and strategies of social insertion of the indigenous populations in the cities of Quito, Guayaquil and Macas. Justification For those who ¿arrived¿ in the city, even though they have been there for centuries, even though the lands of the city were theirs, they were not recognized. But who recognizes you? (in the city) is the implanted system and its rituals that baptize you as urban. Recognition has been little studied, but it seems to be key in terms of explaining the needs of ¿foreigners¿ in the city. Those who arrive in a city require a ¿citizenship card¿, something that says that you belong to the city, that you are urban.
