General objective Explain the exercise of local powers in Ecuador, in light of contemporary economic, political and institutional articulations Justification Local power is a subject little studied, despite its relevance for being a country of economic and political regions. The few initial studies remained in the debates of the formation of regions and the concentration of capitals, for which the detailed analysis of the political-cultural perspective does not exist. The study seeks to contribute to the academic knowledge of a transdisciplinary topic that is useful for teachers and students of the new Local Development Career, and other UPS Careers, producing a text with theoretical, historical and contemporary content on the dynamics of the local power in Ecuador.
