Legal Pluralism and Progressivity of Rights in the Face of the State of Social Conflict

This research project addresses the institutional crisis and the state of social conflict in Ecuador, proposing Legal Pluralism as a tool for social transformation and the progressivity of rights. Given the disconnection between traditional legal practice and justice needs, the study employs the analectical method to integrate non-traditional sources of law, including the rights of nature and interculturality. The team, composed of faculty and students from the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, analyzes how alternative conflict management systems, often invisible, contribute to the sustainability of life in local territories. The approach is multidisciplinary and seeks to connect the local with the national, offering theoretical and practical guidelines to strengthen democracy and peace. As a result, the project has generated scientific articles and book chapters, promoting a critical interpretation of law that responds to contemporary challenges of violence and de-institutionalization. The research aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically in reducing inequalities and promoting peace, justice, and strong institutions.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>To propose guidelines for the progressivity of rights to initiate the resolution of the current social conflict through critical legal theoretical sources within the framework of Legal Pluralism.
