This project addresses the issue of extensive pesticide use, such as glyphosate, and its negative consequences on the environment and human health, seeking sustainable strategies for agriculture. The study focuses on evaluating the capacity of microorganisms isolated from agricultural soils to biotransform and degrade glyphosate, a widely used organophosphate herbicide. The methodology involves obtaining soil samples, isolating and classifying microorganisms using differential staining and biochemical tests. Subsequently, their capacity to biotransform glyphosate will be assessed using advanced biotechnology techniques and gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The approach aims to promote the use of microorganisms as a biological alternative for controlling phytosanitary problems, reducing dependence on toxic agrochemicals, and promoting soil ecosystem health.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>The main objective of this project is to analyze the biodegradation capacity of the herbicide glyphosate using microorganisms isolated from agricultural soil samples.
