Project Details
Description
This project addresses the critical issue of limited access to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SSR) education for people with hearing disabilities, particularly deaf women, who face significant communication barriers and social exclusion in Ecuador. The lack of adequate information violates their Sexual and Reproductive Rights (SRR), contributing to health problems such as unwanted pregnancies and maternal mortality. The main objective is to create a multimedia educational environment that ensures access to comprehensive SSR information, aligning with the physical, mental, and social well-being recognized by the WHO. The solution will be developed using a sequential development methodology, specifically the Waterfall model, which includes rigorous phases for requirements analysis, system and program design, coding, testing, and maintenance. Research is prioritized in the initial phase to ensure the final product meets stakeholder needs, thereby promoting a better quality of life and the full exercise of fundamental health rights for this historically marginalized population.

Goal:
To develop a multimedia educational environment focused on Sexual and Reproductive Health, specifically aimed at people with hearing disabilities, with a particular emphasis on deaf women.

Research lines:
Computer systems and artificial intelligence
