Description

General objective Analyze the formative impact of the subjects of the Reason and Faith Area on UPS students through the application of research instruments that make their educational impact visible at a personal and professional level. Justification Contemporary societies go through a series of realities that make them more complex and that require higher education institutions (HEIs) to strengthen training that generates sustainable development processes in the countries of the region, that respond to the multiple and new concepts of wealth, politics, development…as determined by the international organizations CRES and the World Summit on Higher Education. These new contexts propose some contexts to be considered: Education as an integral part of the social fact is not iniquitous, it is loaded with cultural elements, political, economic and ideological interests that configure it. Education has been transferred the responsibility of strengthening the integral formation of the person, so that it responds to the contexts in which it develops. Education to be integral must respond to these challenges from an integral vision, specified in an integrated curriculum at all levels, with an evaluation that allows the understanding of the learning process. UPS education seeks to "form" "honest citizens and good Christians" with academic and research capacity that contributes to local and national sustainable development. (Note 18, p.41) Finally, this educational research will allow to establish - internally and externally visualize the formative impact of these subjects; the data obtained will allow strengthening the positive actions that are being carried out, such as correcting the weaknesses that appear throughout this process. The theoretical framework of this research is under the contribution of Psychologists and Theologians such as: Piaget Jean, Vogotsky, Ausbel , Skinner, Freire, Dewey renowned theologians in this field Saint Thomas, Saint Augustine, Paul VI, Congar, Philips, Boff, Gutiérrez, and the documents of the Church such as encyclicals, letters…. That respond to tradition, the Magisterium and the Word, elements of ecclesial life. The benefit therefore will be to offer a contribution to improving the profile of students who are responsible for social change, the same that arises from personal, family and work change.
