Description
This project addresses the integration and expansion deficiencies found in hierarchical industrial automation systems based on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). The proposed solution focuses on adopting Component-Based Automation (CBA) through the implementation of the IEC-61499 standard, promoting more flexible and scalable distributed systems. The methodology employed is experimental, involving the design of new function blocks specifically for controlling a sorting station. For process control development, a deductive method is utilized, where control strategies are proposed and validated against established standards before physical implementation. The approach aims to modernize industrial control infrastructure towards low-cost solutions that comply with the latest automation trends.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>The main objective is the implementation of low-cost distributed industrial control systems adhering to the international standard IEC-61499.
