Description
This project focuses on creating a Geoportal for the Salesian community in Ecuador to overcome the lack of geographical visualization for the historical and operational information pertaining to their 26 houses and 132 works (including educational centers, parishes, dispensaries, etc.). The solution addresses the need to locate and organize detailed data regarding each work, collaborators, and beneficiaries on an interactive map. The geoportal's development is supported by research and work from several theses, which have contributed to the design and implementation of key modules such as visualization and style editing, geographic data management, and security. The software development methodology is object-oriented, utilizing RUP or XP depending on the module. Data collection is performed through fieldwork and GPS georeferencing, divided into phases to progressively cover the country's provinces.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>Implement a Geoportal to geographically visualize specific information for the 26 Salesian houses and 132 active Salesian works in Ecuador, allowing them to be grouped by category.<br/><br/><b>Research lines</b>: <br/>Geographic information systems and geoportals
