Description
This multidisciplinary research project addresses the persistent issue of gender-based violence in the canton of Cuenca, Ecuador, a province reporting high rates of this social problem. The central objective is to comprehensively analyze the knowledge, beliefs, attitudes, and coping strategies regarding gender-based violence among operators of the cantonal rights protection system and relevant social actors. The study is justified by the need to develop more effective and tailored interventions, given the context of high prevalence of violence reported in the region. Methodologically, a quantitative, descriptive, and observational approach will be employed, utilizing surveys applied to a representative sample of 339 individuals (public officials and social actors). Data will be processed using SPSS software, applying descriptive statistics. The expected results will provide a solid empirical basis for decision-making, informing the development of public policies, training programs, and awareness campaigns aimed at improving the prevention and attention to gender-based violence in Cuenca, thereby contributing to gender equity and the protection of human rights.

Goal:
To analyze the knowledge, beliefs, attitudes, and coping strategies regarding gender-based violence among operators of the rights protection system and social actors in the canton of Cuenca during the 2024-2025 period.

Research lines:
Inclusive education, policies, culture and practices
