This project focuses on the comparative evaluation of photosynthetic efficiency in Andean plant species (fruits, vegetables, and/or medicinal plants) grown in vitro. The study addresses the issue of biotic and abiotic stress, which negatively impacts plant function and the optimization of biotechnological practices. The proposed methodology follows the standard tissue culture phases: introduction, multiplication, elongation, rooting, and substrate adaptation. Vegetative material will be selected and disinfected, and culture medium components will be optimized for each phase. The key feature of the study is the continuous measurement of Photosystem II (PS II) activity using a portable Chlorophyll Fluorometer (Model Os30p+). This measurement will be taken at the beginning and end of each phase to establish photosynthetic efficiency curves relative to treatments and culture conditions. The knowledge generated regarding photosynthetic efficiency (indicated by the Fv/Fm index) is crucial for improving agricultural management and the acclimatization of these crops.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>The main objective is to conduct a comparative study of photosynthetic efficiency in Andean fruits and vegetables, such as tree tomato, Rosaceae, and/or medicinal plants, under in vitro culture conditions.<br/><br/><b>Research lines</b>: <br/>Biodiversity and genetic resources
