Emerging Ethics of Care in the Family Context: Affection, Interdependence, and Autonomy of Children and Adolescents in the Construction of the Solidarity Economy

This research project focuses on investigating and highlighting social and solidarity economy initiatives in the Ecuadorian Sierra, using gender as an analytical lens to observe their coexistence with market economy practices. The study seeks to explore emerging ethics of care across three case studies, analyzing how these practices redefine concepts such as value, work, time, and social relations, thereby proposing a new paradigm for life centered on care and the sustenance of life. The methodology employed is qualitative and ethnographic, involving workshops and in-depth interviews with women's groups, as well as participant observation in the spaces where care activities take place. The ultimate goal is to demonstrate the potential of revaluing care work for constructing political, economic, and social systems alternative to dominant ones, aligning with the principles of Ecuador's Organic Law of Popular and Solidarity Economy.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>To investigate the meanings and practices related to exchange arrangements (barter, trade) in three case studies in the Ecuadorian Sierra, focusing on socio-familial relationships and the effects on children and adolescents.<br/><br/><b>Research lines</b>: <br/>nan
