Description
This experimental project focuses on valorizing a byproduct from alcoholic beverage distillation, specifically the residue from corn and barley distillation, as a partial substitute feed in the diet of mixed Holstein dairy cattle. The main objective is to determine its nutritional value and evaluate its impact on the compositional quality of the milk produced. The methodology involves the collection and quarterly bromatological analysis of the byproduct (dry matter, protein, fat, crude fiber, etc.) using the Khejal method. An experimental design will be used with 10 experimental units divided into treatment groups and a control group. The influence of the byproduct in the diet will be measured through weekly compositional analysis of 140 milk samples, utilizing infrared spectrophotometry (MILKOSCAN) to quantify protein, fat, lactose, total solids, non-fat solids, and urea. Statistical analysis will be based on a Randomized Block Design (RBD) complemented by Post Hoc Tukey tests, using Infostat V2019 software. This study aims to offer an economic and sustainable nutritional alternative by utilizing an industrial waste product to potentially enhance milk production and quality.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>To determine the nutritional value of the byproduct from corn and barley distillation, applying it in the partial supplementation of the concentrate feed given to dairy cattle to evaluate its influence on the compositional quality of the milk.<br/><br/><b>Research lines</b>: <br/>animal biotechnology
