This project focuses on the laboratory-scale experimental evaluation of a wastewater treatment system based on activated sludge. The primary objective is to determine the efficiency of this process in purifying the wastewater from Quito D.M., which is crucial information as this system will be selected for future treatment plants in the city. The methodology combines experimental laboratory and field work with an exhaustive literature review. Initially, the quality of the wastewater was analyzed at a central point in the city. Based on these data and bibliographic information, preliminary and primary treatment stages for the wastewater (AR) were designed at a laboratory scale. The study aims not only to technically validate the activated sludge process but also to communicate the results obtained regarding treated water quality to the public, ensuring the suitability of the selected method for Quito's future water infrastructure.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>To evaluate the efficiency of wastewater purification at a laboratory scale using an activated sludge system, aiming to validate and communicate the results of this treatment intended for implementation in Quito D.M.<br/><br/><b>Research lines</b>: <br/>Solid waste and optimization of renewable energies
