Design of a Research Training Methodology for Novice University Professors and Administrative Staff (FINVE+P)

The FINVE+P project addresses the low scientific productivity observed at the Guayaquil campus of the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, exacerbated by administrative overload and a lack of research competencies among novice staff. To tackle this challenge, an 'ad hoc' training methodology was designed, integrating the strategic use of information and communication technologies (ICT) to optimize the stages of the research process, from information retrieval to the publication of results. The proposal is based on a quantitative and longitudinal approach, structured into five operational phases that include the formation of research teams, the development of state-of-the-art reviews, data collection, and the writing of scientific articles. The support of the GIEACI research group has been fundamental in implementing this model, allowing participants to overcome technical and methodological barriers. As a result, the project has successfully fostered a research culture, increasing indexed scientific production and strengthening the capabilities of faculty and administrative staff. The impact is reflected in the publication of articles in high-impact journals and the adoption of advanced technological tools, consolidating a replicable model for knowledge management in higher education institutions.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>Design a research training methodology for novice university professors and administrative staff through short-term methodological phases and the use of ICT tools.
