Description

This project addresses the need to strengthen research and scientific writing skills among senior engineering students at the Salesian Polytechnic University (UPS) as part of their graduation requirements. Currently, students primarily choose Technical Projects, Comprehensive Exams, or academic articles, yet there is a noted deficiency in active participation in scientific article development and the cultivation of robust research competencies. The proposed methodology is mixed-descriptive, combining quantitative approaches (surveys to identify participation gaps and skill deficiencies) with qualitative ones. A participatory action research method will be implemented, integrating students into the actual production of scientific articles under the guidance of research professors. The ultimate goal is to train these students as co-producers of their education, guiding them to assimilate research concepts and execute clear procedures to successfully complete their graduation projects, concluding with interviews upon the completion of each writing and graduation process.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>To design a methodology focused on developing research and scientific writing competencies for senior engineering students at the Salesian Polytechnic University, Guayaquil campus.<br/><br/><b>Research lines</b>: <br/>Evaluative research of education and innovation processes
